Deb Jones

b 1963  Parkes, New South Wales       

 

Deb Jones graduated from the Canberra School of Art with a Bachelor of Visual Arts in 1989 and completed a Graduate Diploma of Art specialising in glass at the Australian National University in 1992.  The following year she moved to Adelaide to undertake the two-year training program at JamFactory. She has had a long relationship with the Jam returning as the glass studio designer in 2008-2012.  Jones co-founded glass cooperative Blue Pony Studios in 1995, before opening Gate 8 Workshop in 2007, where she maintains her primary place of work today. Jones has subsequently developed a profile for her public art, which includes commissioned work for the Lyell McEwin Hospital in 2004, University of South Australia in 2005, Adelaide Bus Station in 2009, and with collaborator Christine Cholewa, Adelaide City Council in 2013,

 Royal Adelaide Hospital, City of Port Adelaide and Flinders University in 2014.
