Prina Shah is a Contemporary Artist currently based in Perth, Western Australia. She was born in Kenya, is of Indian origin and was brought up in the UK. She has a BSc in Sociology and Social Psychology from Loughborough University (UK) and a Bachelor of Contemporary Art Majoring in Visual Art from Edith Cowan University in Perth (Australia.)
Prina’s works are meditations on ideologies, literature and the world around her; of social structures and often allude to philosophical notions. Her works aim to engage the viewer to conceive his/her own resolution of the piece. Working with diverse materials to create sculptures, prints, installations and ephemeral works Prina aims to keep her work ever evolving. Her general approach is to work methodically; concept, process and technique are important elements in accomplishing the final piece.
