Scarce holds a Bachelor of Visual Arts (Honours) from the University of South Australia, Adelaide, and a Master of Fine Arts from Monash University, Melbourne. As well as participating in ‘Personal Structures’, a collateral exhibition at the 55th Venice Biennale (2013) and 'Imagine what you desire', 19th Biennale of Sydney (2014) Scarce has been the subject of several solo exhibitions, including ‘What they Wanted’, Kluge-Ruhe Aboriginal Art Collection, University of Virginia, USA (2012); ‘Target Practice’, dianne tanzer gallery + projects, Melbourne (2011); ‘Ectopia’, Canberra Contemporary Art Centre (2011); and ‘Forget me “Not’’’, Tandanya National Aboriginal Cultural Institute, Adelaide (2006). Scarce has also participated in numerous group exhibitions, including ‘Melbourne Now’, National Gallery of Victoria (2013–14); ‘Border Plantings’, Australian Experimental Art Foundation, Adelaide (2013); ‘Deadly: In between Heaven and Hell’, Adelaide Festival at Tandanya National Aboriginal Cultural Institute (2012); and ‘Saying No: Reconciling Spirituality and Resistance in Indigenous Australian Art’, Museum of Contemporary African Diasporan Arts, New York (2011).
